Luke Brickett/ Noir96

Luke Brickett, working under the name Noir96, is based in Birmingham and attended Birmingham City University. He worked his way up at Tippers for almost 5 years and became the head Graphic Designer there before going full time freelance in March last year.

Luke says he has a "pretty intense music background from bands to working in studios." Now, he spend most of his time creating artwork for artists like AWA and Declan McKenna, commissioned by big clients like Universal, Columbia, and Sony. The style of his visuals fits perfectly into this genre of design as he has a vivid interest in typography and layout design, keeping it clean modern, and interesting.

I find Luke Brickett inspiring because he's managed to go from 5 years working in a studio to being freelance and smashing out the work that he so clearly loves. His design for the music industry is so strong, informed, and visually pleasing - there is a clear passion and confidence in his own style. The way that he uses type so confidently is something that I'm really envious of.

WHY?

- Brickett worked his way up at a studio, gaining confidence, before going freelance.

- He took on huge clients in the music industry and creates beautiful visuals for music artists.

- I really admire his visual style and his confidence with type, layout etc.
