Griffiths is a Graphic Designer/ curator/ researcher based in Manchester, also lecturing at Manchester School of Art.
His contemporary work is a mix of considered layout design, typography and colour combinations, each displaying immense skill. He works with both print and digital and has his own publishing platform: Relik Press. His designs are extremely contemporary, and very conceptually based. A lot of his work focuses on photography and collage.
I think that Ra Bear is an example of a very successful contemporary designer. I'm really intrigued by his publishing platform, as this is something I would definitely want to do myself in the future. I think that my own work can lean on the 'very conceptual' side sometimes and I see a connection there. Also, when thinking about my own career I definitely haven't ruled out teaching/ lecturing. It's something I really want to do - whether it's just the odd lecture or full time, so I'd love to ask Adam about how he got into that.
WHY?
- Griffiths works with both print and digital media, both very successfully.
- As well as a designer, Griffiths is also an educator, lecturing at MCU.
- Griffiths set up his own publishing platform.
