Braulio Amado/ BAD STUDIO

BAD STUDIO is the work of Braulio Amado, a Portuguese graphic designer and illustrator currently living in New York City. He makes posters, record covers, editorial illustrations, videos, and some other stuff.

Amado is another one of those designers that tries his hand at everything. Again, because he has an illustrative style that he says he developed through drawing everyday, his work instantly recognisable.

A common theme within his work is embracing the accidents that happen within design. He is the walking embodiment of taking risks and styling them out. He creates trippy textures and graphics from pictures of bedsheets and coffee cups.

I've got him down as one of my ten to research because firstly I just love his style. But I also would ask him how he comes up with his wacky ideas. Is it just part of his practise now? His work is so wild - where does he get his inspiration from? I would also love to get a personal insight into what it's like to be a designer in New York. Furthermore - what it's like to be a designer running their own studio in New York. That is a big big dream.

WHY?

- Amado set up his own personal studio - BAD STUDIO.

- The Portuguese designer moved to New York to live and work.

- Amado creates A LOT of amazing quality work in short amounts of time.

- Amado has also developed his unique, illustrative style and incorporated it into his design work.
