A couple of days ago my friend who new about Glad Print told be about Morning Brew - a daily newsletter that 'makes reading the news actually enjoyable'. I was intrigues, so I signed up to it and have been looking through the newsletters to see if it gives me any ideas.
I wasn't too impressed unfortunately. It was really promising, claiming to provide 'fun-to-know' news, but most of the 'fun' is just within the 'cool' copywriting. The news is still the same, and categorised in the same way, it's just presented to the reader in millennial speak.
One of it's key aims seems to be making the reader smarter, too - and I can see this. It is informative and I think for the older person it is a good alternative to scrolling though the BBC app in a morning, but the millennial style, 'cool-speak' is a little bit cringe. The design is also nothing really special, I don't find it very engaging or interesting at all.
