- A zine is quite a 'throw away' product so fully committing to the calling the publication a magazine would be better.
- If I was going to go with the 'scrap paper' idea, then the format of the magazine could change with every edition based on what is available.
- The idea of the magazine is that it's something that you can refer back to and keep, however, for the type specimen this isn't really the case. Therefore - the type specimen could be made out of 'seeded paper' which you can rip out and plant. I really like this idea because the layout of my magazine will be really limited with a lot of text on one page, however, if the intention of the type specimen is that you can rip it out, then the design could involve a lot more negative space and provide a visual breather.
- The type specimen could also be a lot more fun within the design, as it should encourage the user to plan it (similarly to Apfel Brukt's original specimen).
- The bind should be made out of recycled thread.
- Don't make the publication too small - this will give off the impression that it's more 'throw away'. Make it standard magazine size.
