In terms of your range - you need to REFINE. It's not about having a lot - it's about picking what's most appropriate.
Initially my plan was for the zine to have three different concepts: poster zine, bookmark, coasters all in one: instead I should just do what Lucy and Will suggested yesterday and have the poster zine as the main element and include one mindfulness item per issue. This then gives the project longevity as I have so many ideas that can be utilised for future editions. (Also I realised that I never published the answers to the crossword within the zine! Instead I can publish the answers in the next edition :)
This then poses the issue: I wanted to include three articles but if I'm not doing the whole bookmark/ coaster thing in the way that I was, then I need to rethink. I want to include a little intro page, the crossword etc. so there is only room for one article in the poster zine. I can either:
- Stick to the poster zine and just include one article
- Change to a different zine format to include more than one article.
I'm not sure yet. I'm going to do some sketching of the zine packs to really figure out what I want to include to understand what I'm going to do a bit better.
Also:
It's okay that I haven't delved into designing for social media yet. The social media is an application of the Glad Print zine. The content can be figured out and it's okay.
Also:
One thing to think about is: you're randomly distributing the zines around the city but then asking people to buy them online? not very fair. In a Good Press fashion you could just ask them to cover postage, or the money could be for a mental health charity! Some thinking about the future involves how it could be funded: it could be funded by events! These details need to be ironed out.
Finally:
Be confident in your concept!!! It doesn't have to be the most complicated or over designed. As long as it's confidently explained it's all good.
