Building up on professionalism, research and theory, context.

Product, range, and distribution. Whether that's a book, a poster, a range of products? What's the best way to distribute a message?

The role and responsibility of the graphic designer.

What's important to you and your developing design practice? If you-re interested in print - work with print! Think about what you enjoy and want to explore. It's a balance between what's appropriate and what you want to do.

This module is building your portfolio and your creative concerns.

Brief Part 1: Research.

Segregating your research so you don't run into design solutions straight away.

Develop a practical, visual, and contextual investigation of a specific subject.

Aim to develop research from a range of primary and secondary sources.

Presenting your research (context pitch): Next Wednesday/ Thursday

You must have a clear understanding of your issue before you respond to it.

Label your research: OUGD505 Research

You will write your own brief.

Brief Part 2: Body of practical work

Product/ range/ distribution. Is it a poster series, a publication, and a social media platform? Think about how you're engaging your audience.

Devise and develop a body of work that both distils your knowledge of an identified issue and demonstrates your ability to tap into the market potential for socially, politically, and ethically-driven design.

Examples:

Workshop/ event

poster series

campaign materials

Publication/ zine/ printed matter

Web/ digital/ video
