More correspondence with Jay Vaz and ideas

As time is ticking on I was getting worried about Jay not getting back to me with his answers to my questions. He said that he would and that he'd added it to his diary, but had not gotten back to me to confirm. I sent him a quick follow up as it had been 9 days and thankfully he responded saying that he would get his answers to me by the end of the month - brilliant!

In the mean time I can start to gather imagery and begin to design the actual document.

Initial Ideas:

- The format could be inspired by Jay Vaz's work within the music industry. He said that when he was younger he was 'obsessed with his dad's vinyl and cassette collection'. The format of the document could reference this by being very small and the dimensions of a cassette/ the little cassette cover?

- Or the format of the document could be square to elude to a vinyl. Further it could be traditionally bound or fold out concertina style. If I we're to go with this idea I could create a sleeve to represent a vinyl sleeve - which would give me the opportunity to design even the inside.

- Jay has said he focuses mainly on colour, texture, and collage. I definitely want to focus on these elements most within this production, which I'm looking forward to as this is what I enjoy doing.

- I could include some of my own work that has been inspired by Jay's or sits in the same realm (album cover design, gig posters etc.)

- One process that Jay has mentioned he used to enjoy is illustrating over disposable photos. I like taking film photos so could utilise this within the document if it feel relevant?
