I resized my InDesign pages to he correct size and did a small print run of a couple of pages to identify any issues. The main one being very obvious: the type is much much too small.
The rule headings are 12 pt
The text is 6 pt
The bigger headings are 35 pt
The Title is 48 pt
This is eye opening as on the screen when in InDesign, the type sizing looks absolutely fine to me, so I'm glad I did this test now to identify this issue before I go further. I need to consider the small size of the book - as the pages are so small, the writing needs to be quite big and oversized - but not too much so that it looks awkward.
