Layout Experimentation

After the feedback in my crit that said I should try different layout styles and more type variations, I've begun some more experiments.
Using G. F. Smith's turquoise colour plan paper stock as my background, I tried to design in a way that was informed by the rules themselves. For 'take your camera everywhere' the images travel across the page and off the edge. 'Use your camera day and night' highlights the heavy contrast within the two photos.
As well as image placement I also tried experimenting with another typeface: Poplar, a bold and modern sans serif with the occasional slightly curled serif. I do like the use of this typeface, I think it's boldness is relevant as the rules are commands - so should be in your face and dominant. However, I still want to try out a lot more before I settle.
One thing I was struggling with is how the type and image relate to one another on the page. I find the task of layout quite daunting - as their are ten rules to consider. I definitely think that I should move out of Photoshop and into InDesign to make the process a lot easier to manage for myself. Maybe it needs to be paired back a little bit, more simple. Originally, I wanted the design to be more simple so that the images could speak for themselves - perhaps I need to revisit this.
