Paula Scher: Works by Spin

When researching into 'motion within type' to give myself visual ideas, I came across images of the publication 'Paula Scher: Works' by Unit Editions and designed by Spin. I was very inspired by the slicing and movements that had been injected into the letterforms. The collection of different fills and stretched elements really creates a sense of shifting and movement within such few letters.

When I looked further into the publication I became very familiar with the likes of Paula Scher and I began to recognise that the designers at Spin had projected movement throughout the letterforms to reflect the strides that Scher as made throughout her career, becoming 'the most influential women designer ever'. Her work spans across New York as she has worked with some of the biggest brands.

Taking these ideas forward for my own project, I want to implement the same shift between letterforms that the designers at Spin have here for this publication. The elements of a strong typeface that has been modified through stretching and dragging and slicing.
