Paula Scher's environmental graphics for the building of the financial company located on the East Side of Manhattan.
I decided to look into Scher's work for Bloomberg because I was inspired by the way she rejected all the new contemporary 'rules' that apply to modern design, especially when it comes to architecture as well. Her instillation designs force the public to pay attention to the information that is being displayed because she has absolutely hacked it apart and destroyed all the rules of legibility when it comes to presentation.
Her presentation forces movement between the letterforms and this is continued into all different elements of the design. For example, the floor numbers on the staircase spill out onto the ceiling and the floor. It's an excellent example of taking things to the extent of how far they can go.
