I find the sustainable bamboo bag by Placeholder really interesting because it was born out of a love for plastic bags. Sho Shibuya, co-founder of Placeholder moved to New York and was obsessed with the ubiquitous designs on plastic bags - he even produced a book, Plastic Paper, documenting all of them. However, after the state banned plastic bags for the good of the planet - Shibuya saw a loophole that he could fix. Bodegas and Deli's were exempt from the ban and still using plastic bags. The bamboo biodegradable bag - is the solution. This is a great example of one of the ways printed matter is being used to directly help the planet.
