Crit with Orlando

- Hassan Rahim for Jacques Greene. Heavy Techno influences and collage. Think about techno textures that you discovered in your research. This could inspire interesting ways of bringing in techno influences into the design. RESEARCH.

- 90's grunge aesthetic - important to include that influence. Artists like Sagmiester, Carson, and Scher. RESEARCH.

- The music has a heavy 90's industrial feel to it. Look at visuals for nine inch nails. RESEARCH.

- That weird juxtaposition between techno and jazz within the music is interesting, capture it through the visuals. The idea behind the images could be Jazz influenced, like the hand signals. Then, the image treatment and composition could be techno, 90's, grunge influenced. Think of it in layers:

1. IMAGE
2. TYPE
3. COLOUR
4. TREATMENT

Then, think of a chart:

Where do each of the layers sit on this chart? Are they all leaning more towards techno, or jazz? Are they more influenced by the old aesthetics or the 90's visuals? Are they all equal? Much to think about.

- Type needs to be explored. I am scared about this as I really struggle with incorporating type that can be justified well. I will use Blue Note as a reference, as I have discussed with Orlando, who said that this was a good reference point.

- Full cover needs to work together cohesively.
